Somewhere in a distant land, replicas of statues emerge from a misty winter.Synthetica presents you with deserted images that leave you in doubt, developing an impression of singular familiarity. The series is composed with the idea of this confusion of values, of the brutal geographical approach of spaces to each other and to the observer.All the photographs were taken in China where I was able to photograph the phenomenon of "duplitecture" or large-scale copying of Western architecture and statues. The contrast between the urban space and the foreign representation of the body particularly touched me, especially when one takes into account the modesty and censorship of the nude and eroticism in the country.Throughout the series, bodies and architectures are manipulated and magnified little by little. The fake and real images are mixed together, magnifying the irreal sensation of an urban exploration under the cover of a late day haze.-

Quelque part dans un pays éloigné, des répliques de statues émergent d’un hiver brumeux.Synthetica vous présente des images désertées qui laissent planer le doute, développent une impression de familiarité singulière. La série est composée avec l’idée de cette confusion des valeurs, du rapprochement géographique brutal des espaces entre eux et avec l’observateur.Toutes les photographies ont été prises en Chine ou j’ai pu photographier le phénomène de ‘‘duplitecture’’ ou copie a grandes echelle d’architecture occidentales et de statues. Le contraste entre l’espace urbain et la représentation étrangère des corps m’ont particulièrement touché, surtout quand l’ont tient compte de la pudeur et de la censure operée sur le nu et l’érotisme dans le pays.Le long de la serie de la série les corps et les architectures sont petits à petits manipulés et magnifiés. Les images factices et réeles se mélangent magnifiant la sensation iréele d’une exploration urbaine sous couvert d’une brume de fin de journée.CN/
